A trip to the Masonic Center & Memorial Park

In preparation for Alison and Brian’s wedding, we did a little scouting of this venue location. As you might gather from the title this is also a cemetary. It’s actually a fairly large tract of land with large fir trees scattered about. But next to the Masonic Center is a small open sided building with this wonderful brickwork spire soaring into the sky. Inside are the cubicles for the ashes of many departed souls.

I was stuck by the small tokens of love left friends and relatives. There were even fresh flowers for loved ones many, many years departed, and then there were the silly little things which must have been significant in their past lives. From small toys to fishing gear, to stuffed animals, to balloons, to american flags, it was all there. Very moving. Anyway, here are just a few photos that stood out for me.

Andy and Sandina’s Wedding

Well, here we go with another great wedding. Andy and Sandina had a western theme to their wedding in Tacoma at the North End Community Church where Sandina is a member. They were transported between church and home in a white horse drawn coach. Fortunately the coach was covered because, wouldn’t you know, it rained all afternoon. I’ll be posting a small sampler of images here until we can get the regular slide show going on the main web site. Enjoy!
